Which drain part does the job?

Condensate pumps

Where the water cannot run to a drain by gravity, a condensate pump lifts it. The range covers mini pumps for split units that move 8 to 22 litres an hour, with a discharge height of 8 to 15 m. There are in-line pumps, a pump with a temperature sensor, and a pump with a reservoir and an optical level sensor.

Rigid drain pipe Ø21 mm

Rigid drain pipe gives a straight drain line that holds its shape. It is sold in 2 m lengths with a 2 mm wall, and the fittings for the system are 45° and 90° elbows, tees, coupling sleeves and fixing clips. Each joint seals with a rubber gasket. The system is UV-resistant and comes in two versions, one of them black.

Corrugated drain pipe

Corrugated drain pipe bends by hand, so it can follow the route from the unit to the drain. Sizes are Ø16, Ø18 and Ø20 mm on 30 m and 50 m reels; the 50 m reels have fitting sleeves along the pipe. For the discharge from a pump there is a transparent Ø6 mm pipe on a 25 m reel.

Condensate drain pans

A drain pan sits under the outdoor unit and collects what drips from it. Pans are supplied with brackets, 830 to 1250 mm long, with a Ø16 or Ø20 mm outlet, in ivory, anthracite grey or steel. A floor-mounted pan has its own anti-freeze heating cable and vibration dampers.

Condensate traps

A condensate trap stops drain odours and air coming back up the drain pipe into the unit. The anti-odour traps here fit drain pipe from 14 to 40 mm and install vertically or horizontally. Options include a waterless trap with a removable cover, one with an insect barrier and one with a check valve.

Heating cables

Outside, condensate can freeze and block the drain line; a trace heating cable prevents that. Each cable has a thermostat and comes in 3 m, 6 m or 9 m lengths, at 15 W per metre and 230 V. It switches on at +3 °C and off again at +12 °C.

Common questions

What does the condensate pump do?

It lifts condensate from the unit to a drain the water cannot reach by gravity. The pump starts when condensate collects and stops once the water has gone.

How far will a condensate pump push water?

Pumps in this range manage a discharge height of 8 to 15 m. Measure it from the pump to the highest point of the discharge pipe.

Should a condensate pump always be running?

No. It runs only while the unit is making condensate. If a pump never stops, the discharge pipe is blocked or there is a fault.

Which drain pipe size do I need?

Take the size from the unit's drain outlet. Most split indoor units drain through Ø16 or Ø18 mm. The drain pans here have a Ø16 or Ø20 mm outlet, and the rigid system is Ø21 mm.
